Cuartero is the land of the free, peaceful and living people. It is endowed with rich natural resources and fertile lands complemented by the richness of its cultural heritage and values implanted in the minds and hearts of its people. The Municipality now under the administration of Mayor. Roger F. Flores and Vice Mayor Joemarie H. Openiano.
                 Cuartero has total land area of 10,600 hectares. It is 79 kms. away from Iloilo City and 36 kms. from Roxas City. It has a coordinate of 122 degrees, 39 minutes & 8 seconds longitude and 11 degrees, 16 minutes and 36 seconds latitude. It is geographically bounded by Lemery, Iloilo on the northeast, Maayon on the east, Dumarao on the south, Dumalag on the northwest and Dao on the north.
                      Cuartero is composed of 22 barangays, namely: Agcabugao, Agdahon, Agnaga, Angub, Balingasag, Bitoon Ilawod, Bitoon Ilaya, Bun-od, Carataya, Lunayan, Mahabang Sapa, Mahunodhunod, Maindang, Mainit, Malagab-i, Nagba, Poblacion Ilawod, Poblacion Ilaya, Poblacion Takas, Putian, San Antonio and Sinabsaban.
                      The town has a total population of 25,306 and the total Household of 5061. It has a population density of 1.46 person/hectare and 2.03 population growth. Cuarteronhons are well known for their warm hospitality, generosity, friendliness, deep religiousity and artistry. They are as resilient as the bamboo and as durable as the narra.
                       95% of the population Roman Catholics and the rest are divided into different  Protestant Denominations. Hiligaynon  is the major dialect of the people.
