Cuartero is an Agricultural town - producing rice, corn, coconut, sugar cane, bananas, fruit, vegetables, coffee, legumes, etc. The town is blessed with a favorable climate, adequate water source, suitable and fertile soil for agricultural products. The average rice production of the town can sufficiently feed the town's entire population. The upland are areas planted with tember and fruit trees.
Majority of the residents are also engaged in livestock production and poultry raising.
    Crafts work and other small industries also contribute to the economy. The abundance of raw materials like pandan, nito, rattan, abaca, bamboos, puri palms, baki-baki, wood and other indigenous materials encourage the people to make useful crafts.


Education
    
Enrollment in the elementary schools is steadily increasing. The town has secondary schools - the CuarteroNational High School in the town Proper, the CNHS-Annex in Brgy. Maindang, the Putian National High School in Brgy. San Antonio. It has 12 complete elementary schools and 7 primary schools. In the past years, the LGU distributed audio-video sets to the schools with the aim to bring educational programs particulary sciences and the lives of the local heroes to the children.
There are also preparatory schools present in the town handled by the religious sector. There is also 28 Day Care Centers in the municipality.
